When i first received new DYE m3 plus, at first glance, it simply looked like an upgraded M3s. But later, upon testing in the field, I found great changes to its internal design and looks. In this article, I will share my detailed hands on review of M3 plus paintball marker.

The M3+ model has great innovative features including deuce style trigger, On/off ASA, V4 eye pipe system, all-new Flex face bolt and 2 piece barrel systems. That’s not all! It has improved its shot quality and bolt & solenoid housing as well.

There is a great variation between the M3S and M3+. Dye has put an extra effort to make M3+ a hit model in the market.

Performance

After playing 7k shots with this gun, the first word that comes to my mind for this marker is “Impressive marker” .The Dye upgraded the FL21 Bolt system with the 2-stage Flex Face bolt tip and set a benchmark for the competitors. The 2-stage Bolt speed has exceptional paint handling and even accommodates the extra small paint.

The FL21 bolt face has two firing stages – One is the soft slow stage for precise handling of paint. Whereas, the second stage is speed boost to exploit the valve lift process. The soft tip bolt help carrying the fragile paint from the breach and protects the clipping off irregular paint throughout the firing.

In addition to this, the FL-21 bolt delivers superior performance even in extreme weather conditions. It has independent, active recoil cancellation, and ultra-low 115 psi operating pressure. I just adore its recoil cancellation as I feel no kickback or backward movement every time I shoot with my M3+ paintball gun. You will definitely enjoy its shot after shot consistency.

If I talk about its air efficiency and shot quality then this model has its own identity. It is far better than my Geo 4 and LV 1.6. It works on ultra-low pressure and a refined bolt cycle that delivers a quiet and smooth shot.  I found it to work even with the fragile paint.

The Dye intelligently simplifies its old-style LPR and updates it with adjustable flow control. The small changes in design make this model better than its previous models Dye M3+, Dye M3S and Dye DSR in terms of performance, reliability and convenience.

Design

The next exciting feature that Dye introduced in this model is its ASA Slide Lock Airport On/ off operation. I found it extremely easy to use – no buttons, no knob and no lever! All the operations are covered inside the Slide Lock Cover.  It is so simple to press and slide the lock for air supply purposes.

It helps me to keep my gun efficient and consistent even when the tank runs dry.

Eye Covers – 4th Generation

Eye cover DYE m3 plus

Are you fed up with bulky exterior eye plates and mounting screws? So was I, until i grabbed M3+. DYE came up with the 4th generation of improved  Eye Pipe System along with its breach geometry. This is the reason that M3+ can accommodate all paint sizes. Moreover, The Eye pipe system has a self-cleaning operation as it shields the eye from broken paints and dirt. The self-cleaning system makes sure the eyes are monitoring the breech.

Trigger System – Better control ?

Unlike conventional paintball guns, the dye kept the trigger blade large at the tip and extended from the midpoint. Previously, I just used the S-curved trigger or blade trigger, therefore, I was not so confident about how it would work.

Surprisingly, it helps me place my fingers on the On/off the trigger and improves the grip. It gives me full control over my paintball ball gun due to its deeply grooved trigger.

The best part about the trigger system is that you can customise the setting to best match your needs. You can adjust the return force, trigger angel, travel and more. All the adjustments are accessible from external sources to boost your shooting capabilities.

Key Features:

  • 4th Generation Eye Pipe system
  • No exposed plates or screws
  • Ergonomic and Luxury Design
  • Elevated performance, durability and simplicity in design
  • Slap ASA Slide Lock Airport
  • Flex Face Bolt Tip
  • Quick Release Bolt system
  • 2 stage flex bolt tip
  • Low profile, Aluminum construction

User Intuitive Controls & Customization

After playing with it for 1 year, i could say that M3+ gives ultimate playing experience due to its flexibility to customize nearly every feature through the MOS Air operating system. It helps me to tune my paintball without any restriction and exceeds its performance.

The HD display screen, 5-way joystick, multiple profiles, training mods, and play screen options let me adjust with multiple settings. This paintball gun never cease to excite you with so many options to avail on the paintball field.

However, I just hope that dye would come up with some improvement in Joystick as it continues to follow its traditional controls as in MS3.

Rechargeable battery

Just charge the batteries and play in the playground! No need to ask your friend for the battery or run to the store to buy it.  Plugin the battery in a power source via USB cable. Charge your battery and play!

One thing I must mention here, I analysed that the battery life of M3+ is longer as compared to the M3S. The extended battery life lets me play while the opponents give up due to the poor battery of their guns.

Upon unboxing, I found that the USB port was faulty, so I got to use it to charge via the pad, and later i got a new one through warranty claim. You can claim the Dye warranty to replace it with a new one if there’s any such case.

Grips & Frame

Holding M3+ in my hands, gives me superior control and grip over my gun.  On the basis of my personal experience, I would like to entitle it as the best ergonomics yet, in a paintball gun.

The micro-texture body and full wrap grip will let anyone perform like a Pro on a paintball field. I adore the dye using the dual-density material to ensure a rock-solid grip.

 M3+ vs M3S – A quick Comparison

In my analysis, the dye has come up 95% right in terms of its improvements. I have used the M3S for over the last 3 years. So, I just decided to invest in the upgraded model.  Apart from my minor complaints, I found the M3+ more durable grips, reinforced the pilot mount,  improved durable bezel and more.

  • New ASA On/off button
  • 2 stage acceleration Bolt system
  • Soft Face tip

From my testing and analysis, first thing i would say is that M3+ has a matchless ergonomic design. It will give you superior comfort and better control due to its extraordinary features including full wrap, sticky grips, SLAP on/OFF,  Mag –rach trigger, UL frame and dual-density material.

Dye, after the analysis of their customer’s feedback report, has made exceptional shot quality, air efficiency and paint handling of this paintball marker.  It will value your money in terms of performance, durability and simplicity.

Its a perfect combination of technology, style, flexibility and comfort. It definitely helped taking my performance to the next level in championship tournaments. I would recommend any professional paintball players to get their hands over this model to elevate their performance. Good Luck!
